During the Eighth Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) held in New Delhi, India, the Dominican Republic ratified its accession to the ISA Framework Agreement through the formal delivery of the Instrument of Ratification by H.E. Francisco Comprés H., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to India to Mr. Ashish Khanna, Director General of the International Solar Alliance.

Through this ratification, the Dominican Republic becomes part of a global coalition of more than 120 countries committed to sustainable energy transition, green financing, and technical cooperation aimed at accelerating access to solar energy.

This accession reinforces the Dominican Republic’s commitment to the goals of Vision 2030, the National Development Strategy, and the Paris Agreement, while opening new opportunities for investment, technology transfer, and capacity building in clean energy.

This important milestone further strengthens the country’s leadership in Caribbean climate diplomacy and reflects its determination to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative energy future.

• H.E. Francisco Comprés H. participated in the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025, reaffirming the Dominican Republic’s commitment to strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation with India.

H.E. Francisco Comprés H., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to India, had the honor of participating in the inauguration of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025, held at the India Expo Centre & Mart and presided over by H.E. Narendra Modi, Honorable Prime Minister of India, together with the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. On this occasion, the Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Francisco García, Counsellor for Commercial Affairs.

Now in its third edition, the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show has established itself as an important platform for MSMEs, industry, and the promotion of global trade. The event brings together key stakeholders from across sectors to explore new opportunities, strengthen commercial networks, and foster international partnerships.

During the event, the Ambassador proudly highlighted the participation of a delegation of Dominican entrepreneurs and business leaders, whose presence reflects the growing interest in India as a strategic partner for trade and investment. Their engagement also demonstrates the Dominican Republic’s commitment to diversifying markets and promoting long-term economic cooperation.

Through this participation, the Dominican Republic reaffirmed its willingness to deepen the bonds of commerce, innovation, and shared growth between both nations, with a focus on collaboration in areas of mutual strength such as services, technology, and sustainable development.

H.E. Francisco Comprés H., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to India, participated in the traditional meeting hosted by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in New Delhi, H.E. Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam, on the occasion of welcoming newly accredited ambassadors to India.

The gathering also included welcome remarks by Ambassador Ashok Sharma, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, representing the Indian Chancellor. In his address, he highlighted the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and diplomatic cooperation in strengthening international relations.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for fraternity and comradeship among members of the diplomatic community in New Delhi, while reaffirming the collective commitment to advancing international diplomacy, collaboration, and shared understanding among nations.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Republic of India, H.E. Mr. Francisco Comprés Hernández, presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Mrs. Droupadi Murmu, President of India, during an official ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi yesterday morning.

This formal act marks the official commencement of Ambassador Comprés’s diplomatic mission, dedicated to further strengthening the historical ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Dominican Republic and India.

Ambassador Comprés expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the Government of India and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a closer, more dynamic, and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship.

His Excellency Francisco Comprés Hernández, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to India, had the honour of presenting a copy of his Letter of Credence to Mr. Anshuman Gaur, Chief of Protocol of the Republic of India.

This ceremony marks the formal beginning of his diplomatic mission in India, with a commitment to further strengthening the ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual development between the Dominican Republic and India.
