H.E. Francisco Comprés H. paid a visit to Mr. Amit Prothi, Director General of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), at its headquarters in New Delhi. He was accompanied by Mr. Alfredo Stefan, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India.
During the meeting, the Ambassador formally delivered a Note Verbale expressing the intention of the Government of the Dominican Republic to host a Regional Office of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure in the Caribbean, in response to the call for expressions of interest addressed to Member States.
The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange views on the next steps of the selection process, while also highlighting the Dominican Republic’s strengths as a potential host country, including its institutional stability, connectivity, and favourable environment for international organisations.
Ambassador Comprés reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s commitment to advancing cooperation with the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening resilient infrastructure on a global scale.
