Día E + Día del Libro 2026 Celebrates the Beauty of the Spanish Language and Cultural Exchange
A few moments from the celebration of Día E + Día del Libro 2026 at the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi captured the spirit of creativity, language, and cultural dialogue that defined this special gathering.
Balloons carried Spanish words that travelled from India centuries ago. Mandalas placed the ñ at their centre. Henna became part of artistic expression. Latin American cursive appeared in different hands. Fortune cookies carried phrases in Spanish. A truck-art sign joined the permanent collection of the Embassy. And the paper slips from last year waited once again for new words to be placed on the cord.
The event reflected how several languages can work together to celebrate one, thanks to the dedication of a committed team and the generosity of an audience that warmly embraced the initiative.
The question that opened this year’s edition remains open still — because every word preserved is also a beginning.
